Dreaming of Blue Tangerines

about

This is my third official electronic music tribute track to the Ozric Tentacles. I really am quite pleased with the piece (even being predominately an ambient synth guy).

This one, though slated for my next Ozrics tribute release, really reminds me more of the work of Tangerine Dream like on the Miracle Mile soundtrack. (More to come . . .)

I designed and live morphed the hard driving sequencer track. I then added a very basic, fast tempo electronic drum track created in the AR-909 iPad synth app. Lastly, I added another live improv, unrehearsed sequenced synthesizer track using a Korg microKorg-S keyboard for an awesome, in-your-face, howling and intense lead/sustained note effect. I used an old mixing trick and created a copy of the third track and dumped both into the left and right tracks for a subtly wider sound. (The third track was a second take, as the first take was lost when Cubase crashed when saving the project. I hate when that happens!)

I left everything as it was for each track: a one-take live performance (including any sonic warts). Here it is for fans and first-time visitors.

No apologies for that earworm effect you might experience.

Enjoy!
