about

I am an old fan of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos. I am a published Lovecraft style horror author as well.

This piece was inspired by a sequenced preset, from a synth app for iPad, that I tweaked, that was named "Dancing in the Purple Twilight" -- and then yesterday came forth this 4 track piece, being a somewhat foreboding and ominous work.

Track 1 was the sequenced part. Track 2 was then added my using a Korg micro-Korg-S for a distorted synth lead. Track 3 was a bass line then added. Buried in the mix was track 4 which was an 80s style Ozzy and Randy Rhoads type electric guitar power chord progression. Tracks 2 and 4 were live panned during the final mix down.

*I JUST DISCOVERED TODAY, THAT WHEN LISTENING TO THIS PIECE ON A SMARTPHONE -- TURN TOP OF PHONE TO THE LEFT AND THUS HAVE PHONE IN "LANDSCAPE" POSITION TO EXPERIENCE FULLY THE LEFT TO RIGHT TO LEFT PANNING! THIS IS FOR MY OLDER MODEL SAMSUNG PHONE.*

It's a peppy, aggressive and driving little composition. Imagine several Shoggoths in a ritual "dance" of sorts crawling about in the moonlight.

Here's some info about Lovecraft's Shoggoth bizarre entities: lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Shoggoth They were truly disgusting creatures in the famous Cthulhu Mythos.
